Position specific season prep 

One of the biggest gaps in youth hockey development is position-specific training.

Most players spend their entire development doing the same drills regardless of position. But the reality is forwards and defensemen play completely different roles on the ice, and without learning the details of those roles, players miss critical parts of the game.

Our Position Specific Development Camps are designed to teach the details of how to truly play your position.

Players will train in separate groups for forwards and defensemen, focusing on the skating patterns, puck skills, and decision making specific to their role in the game.

Defense Camp Focus

• Gap control and rush defense
• Defensive skating and mobility
• Puck retrievals and breakouts
• Net front coverage and defensive awareness
• Offensive blue line play

Forward Camp Focus

• Acceleration and separation speed
• Puck skills under pressure
• Creating offense and attacking the middle
• Shooting and scoring habits
• Offensive zone awareness

On the final day of camp, the forward and defense groups will be combined for a full game, allowing players to apply the position-specific skills they developed throughout the week in a real game environment.

This is an invite-only camp designed for high-caliber players. Registration is limited and players will be accepted at the discretion of K&M Hockey Development to ensure a strong training environment and competitive pace.

All skates will take place at the Bob Snodgrass arena in High River
